How to recruit players for a sports team
Recruitment fails for three reasons: you cannot see who is available, you contact people who do not fit the gap, and there is no follow-up. Each is a search-and-tracking problem, not a luck problem.
Start from the gap. Know that you need a left-footed full back, a setter or a point guard before you open the directory, then filter for exactly that and contact ten people rather than broadcasting to a thousand.
