Scouting

Scouting tools for amateur and youth football

Scouting at amateur level is mostly logistics: finding candidates, tracking who you have seen, and remembering why you liked them. AthletiLink handles all three — a searchable directory of player profiles, a private watchlist with notes and status, and messaging that reaches the player or their coach.

What the scouting tools cover

Every player profile carries the facts a scout screens on before travelling: position, age group, measurables, level, minutes and film. That turns a Saturday of guesswork into a shortlist.

Watchlist notes are private to you. Status labels let you separate players you are tracking from players you have contacted or ruled out.

  • Filter by sport, position, level, city and measurables
  • Private watchlist with notes and status per player
  • Film and recent results on every profile
  • Direct messaging to players, parents and coaches
  • Analytics on the players and searches you run

Scouting young players responsibly

For under-18s, contact goes through a parent, guardian or club coach — never around them. Keep records of who you spoke to and when.

Be straight about what you are offering. A trial invitation is a trial invitation; describing it as anything more is how amateur scouting gets its bad reputation.

Step by step

  1. 01

    Set your search

Sport, position, level, city and travel radius. Narrow beats broad.

  2. 02

    Build the watchlist

Save candidates with a one-line reason. Future you will not remember it otherwise.

  3. 03

    Verify on film, then live

Film screens out; live viewing decides. Never sign off on clips alone.

  4. 04

    Contact properly

Message the player, or the parent and coach for minors, with a specific next step.

Frequently asked questions

Who can scout on AthletiLink?

Anyone can browse public profiles. Club staff, coaches and independent scouts use the watchlist and messaging tools; players choose what appears on their public profile.

Can players see that I saved them?

No. Watchlists and notes are private to the scout who created them. Players only see contact when you message them.

Does AthletiLink guarantee I will be signed?

No, and nobody honestly can. What a profile does is help players become more discoverable: it puts your position, measurables, film and availability where clubs, coaches and scouts are already looking, so the people making decisions can find and assess you.

Is it free?

Yes. Creating a player profile, appearing in the directory, listing your availability and messaging clubs and coaches is free. There are no listing fees and no commission.
