Do I need AAU to get recruited for college basketball?
For D1 and most D2 programs, yes in practice — coaches evaluate during certified live periods, and those events are circuit-based. D3 and NAIA staffs recruit more from high school film, camps and direct contact.
When does college basketball recruiting start?
Coaches may send materials from September 15 of sophomore year, and calls and off-campus contact open June 15 after sophomore year for men's basketball. Evaluation of public film happens earlier, so your profile should exist by 9th grade.
How tall do you have to be to play college basketball?
Height thresholds are positional, not absolute: roughly 6'1"+ for D1 guards and 6'6"+ for forwards, dropping a few inches at each level. Elite shooting, handle or defensive versatility routinely overrides the benchmark.
Can I get a basketball scholarship at D3?
